Dawn is the first collaborative project by Anna Khmaladze and Mariam Songhulashvili. The 180° rotation of the figure depicted on the felt bas-relief reflects its bodily transformation. The figure, shown in three different positions, transforms along with the change of perspective - the knowledge that exists beyond the body becomes embodied, envelops it - evolving into bodily extension. The light and visual imagery projected onto the bas-relief give the static object a temporal dimension, becoming a kind of medium between the states of the figure and the viewer’s gaze.
